Zebra ZD421 label size setup

Do this in the free app: app.mylabelmaker.com. No signup. Design the label, then print on a Zebra or download PNG / PDF / ZPL.

Zebra ZD421 label size setup is why labels cut off or skip. Measure the liner, set that width and height in the free label maker, then print one test. Do not leave Windows on Letter.

Good to know: The printer and the design must agree. A 4x6 job on 2x1 stock wastes a strip and looks like a jam.

How to set ZD421 label size

  1. Measure the label (not the core). Common ZD421 rolls are 2x1, 3x1, or 4x6.
  2. Open the free label maker and pick that size (or custom).
  3. Calibrate the ZD421 on that stock (gap vs mark).
  4. Print one test. If it is off-center, fix guides, then reprint one.

Print a configuration label

Hold the cancel/feed combo your model uses until a config label prints. Confirm the stored width matches the roll. Then keep the same size in the editor so the bitmap is not scaled.

Print or save

Zebra thermal: print from the browser with Browser Print at the printer’s DPI. Everyone else: download PNG, JPEG, SVG, PDF, or ZPL. JSON keeps the editable master.

Wrong size is most cut-off jobs.
