Zebra label maker for Mac: free browser alternative to ZebraDesigner

Published: · 8 min read · Mac & Setup

If you run a Mac in a warehouse, fulfillment center, or small business, you have probably hit the same wall: ZebraDesigner is Windows-only. Parallels or a spare PC works, but it is slow, expensive, and brittle. BarTender and NiceLabel have the same problem for most teams on a Mac budget.

mylabelmaker is a free Zebra label maker that runs natively in macOS browsers — Safari, Chrome, Edge, Brave, or Firefox. Design labels with a visual canvas, export native ZPL, batch-print from Google Sheets or CSV, and send jobs directly to USB or network Zebra printers through Zebra's free Browser Print helper for Mac. No account, no install for the editor itself.

Why Mac users search for a Zebra label maker

What you get on Mac (same as Windows)

mylabelmaker is a single web app — there is no separate Mac download. Everything runs client-side in your browser:

Quick start: Zebra labels on Mac in 4 steps

1

Open the editor in any Mac browser

Go to app.mylabelmaker.com. No signup. Pick a label size (4×6 shipping, 2×1 product, etc.) or open a template from the left rail.

2

Install Zebra Browser Print for macOS

Download the Mac installer from the homepage setup section or Zebra's site. Restart Safari or Chrome after install. This small helper bridges the browser to your USB/network Zebra printer.

Stuck? See our full Browser Print setup guide for Mac & Windows — it covers Safari localhost certificates, Chrome updates, and "printer not showing" fixes.

3

Design your label

Add text, barcodes, QR codes, and logos. Use snap guides and layers like any modern design tool. For repeating data (SKUs, serial numbers, addresses), insert {{column_name}} placeholders and load a spreadsheet in the Variables panel.

4

Print or copy ZPL

Select your Zebra printer in the app toolbar and hit Print. Or use Options → Copy ZPL to paste into a backend queue, ERP, or WMS. Designs autosave in your browser — no cloud upload.

Mac tip: Safari users must trust the Browser Print localhost certificate once (System Settings → Privacy & Security). Chrome and Edge on Mac usually work after a browser restart post-install. Full steps are in the troubleshooting guide.

Common Mac workflows

Not supported on Mac (or anywhere): mylabelmaker outputs ZPL for Zebra thermal printers only. It does not drive Brother, Dymo, or TSC printers. Mobile Safari is usable for design preview but direct printing is best on desktop macOS.
