Changelog
This page lists what changed in the editor: the ZPL viewer, printing from Excel or CSV, the templates, and printing to a Zebra printer.
Each date is a day the change actually shipped. The about page is the place to write if a size is wrong or a printer step is missing.
October 28, 2026: one ZPL viewer
Pasting ZPL and previewing it stays on the ZPL viewer. Older ZPL addresses send you there, so you are not looking at two different previews.
The same day added side-by-side notes for a Brother, DYMO, Rollo, or Munbyn printer next to a Zebra printer. Those notes start on compare.
October 12, 2026: those printers on the shop
The shop lists DYMO, Brother, Rollo, and Avery with Zebra. Individual size pages went up the same day, including Avery 5160, DYMO 30252, and Brother DK-1241. The brand size lists were already on Zebra, DYMO, Brother, Rollo, and Avery.
October 1, 2026: print from Excel
Load Excel or a CSV and every row shows on the bottom rail. Add to print marks the label you are looking at. Print uses the rows you checked. A row you leave unchecked stays on the rail and does not print.
On a letter sheet, that rail is Place data only. The zoom you pick is remembered for each saved label.
September 25, 2026: paste once, then step
The last thing you copied pastes once. The next paste steps aside so it does not sit on top of the first one. Zoom stays on the label when you move around the editor. Variables, and Place data on a letter sheet, open from the bottom rail.
September 22, 2026: a picture, a wide label, and brand sizes
You can paste or drop a picture on the label. The latest copy stays available.
A wide label prints landscape, at the label size, when you choose Print from this computer. Leave scaling off.
DYMO, Brother, Rollo, and Avery each got a label page that day, along with the pages for printing a list. The shop listing came later, on October 12.
September 20, 2026: Excel, CSV, and Google Sheets
The list pages went up for batch labels, Excel, CSV, mail merge, and Google Sheets. A spreadsheet prints one label per row you checked. It does not fill every cell of an Avery sheet for you.
A Google Sheet has to be published to the web as CSV. A normal share link will not load. The first row needs to be the column names.
September 19, 2026: the ZPL viewer page
The public ZPL viewer page and a comparison with Labelary went up. Labelary turns pasted ZPL into a picture. Here you can preview that code, and you can also design a label and print it. The viewer itself opened in the editor on August 28.
September 18, 2026: copies, Edit row, and Safari
Print this asks how many copies when that print covers more than one spreadsheet row. The copies control sits next to Print this.
Edit row can open a row you have not checked, so you can look at it without adding it to the print. On Safari, the Browser Print card says to use Chrome for that trust step.
September 17, 2026: Print this, and the rows you pick
Print this reprints the label on screen. You pick which spreadsheet rows are included when you print the run. With nothing else selected, you can place a column from Variables onto the label.
September 14, 2026: copy the label, and clearer Zebra help
You can copy the label as JSON and paste it back into the editor.
Zebra Browser Print help sits in cards under the printer list. On Safari, reload the app if the printer does not show. There is no separate refresh button for that helper.
September 10, 2026: more fonts, and text boxes that fit
The font list got longer, and you can search it. A text box can be resized from the side, the top, and the bottom, and the type fits the frame instead of clipping at the edge. The caret stays on the letters, including script fonts.
September 4, 2026: templates you can print at home
New templates cover occasions, letter sheets, and named looks. The sample pictures show the whole label, not a clipped bottom edge. Type sits in the middle of shapes, and a filled link can open a template that is already set.
September 3, 2026: tools, groups, and a PDF
The barcode, QR, and other tools open the matching part of the editor. You can group objects and resize the group.
Print from this computer prints one page and leaves the starting number where you set it. A PDF can be one file for the whole run, or one page per label.
August 28, 2026: ZPL viewer and printing to a Zebra
The ZPL viewer opened in the editor. Paste Zebra code, preview it, and print that job to a Zebra printer. You can also download the preview as PNG, JPG, or PDF.
You choose Print from this computer or a Zebra printer before the job goes out. Direct print needs Zebra Browser Print installed once.
CODE93, GS1-128, and Data Matrix joined the barcode list. Numbering has its own rail, with a copies preview. You can put a table on the label, and right-click for copy, paste, and layer order.
August 27, 2026: your own size, and a spreadsheet in the file
You can type a custom label size in inches. Shape and template search sits in the pane. More shapes were added. Each saved label keeps its own undo history, and text wraps inside the box.
Every spreadsheet row can download as a zip. The Excel or CSV data is stored with the label file. Importing that JSON into a label you already saved updates that label instead of making a second one. PNG, JPEG, SVG, and PDF downloads were sharpened the same day.
August 20, 2026: templates redrawn
Food, beauty, and seasonal templates were redrawn so the words sit in the label. More colorful templates were added to the picker, and Shipping moved to the end of that list.
August 14, 2026: a Zebra printer accepts the label
Printing to a Zebra printer was fixed so the printer accepts the job. The label goes out as a graphic through Zebra Browser Print, not as a preview picture left on your screen. If the printer list is empty after you install the helper, restart the browser.
July 27, 2026: PNG, JPEG, SVG, PDF, or ZPL
The editor can download the label as PNG, JPEG, SVG, PDF, or a ZPL file. Exports are drawn at 600 DPI so a barcode stays readable.
June 15, 2026: faster printing to a Zebra
Sending a label to a Zebra printer got faster. A status check no longer blocks a job the printer can print, and malformed ZPL that stopped the print was fixed.
May 17, 2026: one label per CSV row
You can upload a CSV and print a different label for each row. Each label keeps its own list. The same day added snap to grid, a color picker, undo and redo, shapes, and more barcode types. You type on the label in place, on top of the design.
Questions
Can I print from Excel?
Yes. Open the editor, load the Excel file or the CSV, and print the rows you checked. A Google Sheet has to be published to the web as CSV first. The steps are on print labels from Excel.
Where is the ZPL viewer?
Paste Zebra code on the ZPL viewer. You can preview it there and print that job to a Zebra printer. It shipped in the editor on August 28, 2026.
How do I print to a Zebra printer?
Install Zebra Browser Print once, restart the browser, then pick the Zebra printer in the app. DYMO, Brother, Rollo, Avery, and a normal office printer use Print from this computer, with scaling off.
