US small businesses ship millions of parcels on USPS Priority Mail, Ground Advantage, and First-Class every week. A Zebra desktop thermal printer (ZD420, ZD421, GK420d, ZP450) with 4×6 labels is the standard setup in garages and fulfillment rooms from Texas to New Jersey — cheaper per label than laser paper, and carriers scan thermal barcodes cleanly.

This guide shows how to design and batch-print USPS-ready ship-to labels with mylabelmaker — free browser software — using order exports from Pirate Ship, Shippo, Stamps.com, Shopify, Etsy, or eBay.

Note on postage: mylabelmaker designs and prints the label artwork (address, barcode, order ref). You still buy postage from USPS.com, Pirate Ship, ShipStation, Shippo, or your marketplace. Many US sellers use discounted USPS rates from Pirate Ship, then print the 4×6 PDF on Zebra — or rebuild the ship-to face in mylabelmaker for custom branding + CSV batch.

Export orders for USPS shipping

Pirate Ship

Pirate Ship is popular with US Etsy and eBay sellers for discounted USPS rates. Download your shipment CSV or copy ship-to fields into a spreadsheet with headers like name, address1, address2, city, state, zip, tracking, order_id.

Shopify

Admin → Orders → Export unfulfilled orders. Map shipping address columns. Dedicated walkthrough: Shopify shipping labels on Zebra.

Etsy / eBay

Download open orders CSV, normalize address headers. See Etsy & eBay tutorial.

Shippo / ShipStation / EasyPost

Export the day’s labels or use their Zebra print path for postage PDFs. Use mylabelmaker when you need custom pack slips, return addresses, or warehouse-only 4×6 face labels driven from your own sheet.

Design a USPS-style 4×6 label in mylabelmaker

  1. Open app.mylabelmaker.com → set artboard to 4 × 6.
  2. Load a Shipping template (Shopify/UPS style works as a starting layout) or build from blank.
  3. Ship-to block with variables:
    • {{name}}
    • {{address1}}
    • {{address2}} (optional second line)
    • {{city}}, {{state}} {{zip}}
  4. Add return address (static text) in the top-left corner if you are not printing carrier postage artwork.
  5. Order reference: Order {{order_id}}.
  6. Tracking barcode: barcode element with value {{tracking}} (CODE128), human-readable text below.
  7. Optional: service line like “USPS GROUND ADVANTAGE” or “PRIORITY MAIL” as static text for packers.

Batch print from CSV

  1. Open the Variables panel in the editor.
  2. Paste CSV or upload UTF-8 CSV from Excel.
  3. Confirm headers match your {{tokens}}.
  4. Preview row 1…N with the navigator — fix bad addresses before printing.
  5. Select your Zebra printer, confirm DPI, Print all rows (or Print N).

Carrier postage artwork: Official USPS Intelligent Mail barcodes and prepaid label faces are generated by USPS or your multi-carrier platform. Use mylabelmaker for custom ship-to / warehouse labels, internal routing labels, or rebuilds when your CSV has addresses + tracking. For pure postage PDFs, print from Pirate Ship / ShipStation to the Zebra as a 4×6 PDF printer when that path is already working.
