How to make barcode labels free
Anyone can generate a barcode image. Making barcode labels that scan on a packing line means correct size, quiet zones, DPI, and thermal stock. Here is the free method.
1. Choose the barcode type
- CODE128 — SKUs, bins, internal IDs
- UPC-A — US retail products
- EAN-13 — international retail
- QR — URLs and assets
2. Pick label size
2×1 and 2.25×1.25 dominate product stickers; 3×2 for more text. Size chart.
3. Design free online
- Open mylabelmaker.
- Insert a native barcode (not a phone photo).
- Add human-readable text under the bars.
- Set DPI to 203 or 300 to match the printer.

5. Print and scan-test
