B. Path and language

Confirm OS printing works (Windows test page or Browser Print test).
Set printer language to ZPL (not EPL/Line Mode) when using ZPL designers and Browser Print tools.
Reinstall official drivers — drivers.
Clear stuck spooler jobs — especially after Windows updates — update recovery.
If the designer list is empty — printer not showing.

C. Design job issues

Wrong label size → cut off or multi-feed — cut off · skipping
Graphics too heavy → crash or partial render — crashing
Barcode as image → will not scan — not scanning

Garbage characters vs blank vs partial

Garbage / random letters — language mismatch or wrong driver encoding; set ZPL; reprint config.

Driver “Test page” works, designer fails

That pattern means the device path is OK but the designer’s port, language, or advanced stock settings are wrong. Create a brand-new label with default stock matching your physical media; avoid copying a years-old template first. If the new label prints, migrate content carefully.
