Zebra printer paused, head open, or not ready
What people report online: “Printer is paused,” “head open light on but cover closed,” “media out with a full roll,” “job sent but nothing happens.” Status blocks look like software bugs — usually the printer is refusing the job on purpose.
Zebra will not print while it thinks the path is unsafe. Clear the status, then resend from a clean free software path so you are not fighting a stuck Windows spooler.

Status meanings (common)
- Paused — press PAUSE to resume; clear jammed jobs in the queue
- Head open — re-latch the printhead firmly until it clicks
- Media out — roll empty, or sensor cannot see labels (reload + calibrate)
- Ribbon out — thermal transfer ribbon empty or not loaded
- Error / caution — check LCD or config print for the exact code
Clear and retest
- Open cover, reseat media, close head until latched.
- Press FEED to advance one clean label.
- Cancel paused state on the printer panel.
- Cancel stuck jobs in Windows/Mac print queue if using drivers.
- Send a one-label test from free browser software.
