Zebra printer driver setup (Windows and Mac)

Published: · 3 min read · Setup

You need a Zebra printer driver, or you can skip the Windows queue. Classic OS drivers put the printer in Settings. Browser Print plus the free label maker lets you print to Zebra from Chrome, Edge, or Safari without fighting that queue.

Recommended free stack: Install Browser Print, then open https://app.mylabelmaker.com. Design in the browser and print. No signup. Mac and Windows.

Browser Print (fastest for free design)

  1. Download and install Zebra Browser Print from Zebra. It is a free helper app.
  2. Connect the printer via USB or network. Confirm it appears in Browser Print.
  3. Open https://app.mylabelmaker.com and print one test.

Windows 10 and 11 drivers

  1. Get the official driver package for your model (ZD420, ZD421, GK420d, and so on) from Zebra support. Skip random third-party "driver packs."
  2. Run the installer, pick USB or Ethernet, finish the wizard.
  3. Print a Windows test page, then use the free app for real labels. Windows free software.

macOS

Many Mac users skip classic CUPS queues and use Browser Print plus the browser designer. Guide: Zebra on Mac. If you need a system printer, use Zebra's Mac/CUPS package for your model and still design free online.
