Zebra printer not printing after a Windows update
It worked yesterday. Windows updated overnight. Now the Zebra queue is stuck, the printer disappeared, or jobs flicker and never leave. You can fight the driver again, or skip the queue with Browser Print and the free label maker.
Skip the queue: Install Browser Print, open https://app.mylabelmaker.com, print one test. No signup. Less dependence on the Windows printer queue.
Quick recovery (drivers still OK)
- Restart the Print Spooler service (services.msc → Print Spooler).
- Delete stuck jobs; reboot printer and PC.
- Re-select the Zebra as default if you must use drivers.
- Print a Windows test page; then a real label.
If the driver died in the update
- Reinstall the official model driver from Zebra, driver setup
- Avoid random “driver pack” sites
- Or skip the queue: Browser Print path above
Also: not connecting · Windows free software.
Stop using ZebraDesigner as a single point of failure
When the only design tool is a heavy Windows install, every OS update is a shipping risk. Keep templates in a free browser tool so Mac users and updated PCs share the same workflow, without ZebraDesigner.
Rolling back Windows updates can help short-term but is not a warehouse strategy. Prefer a print path that does not depend on a single driver build.
Print while Windows recovers
