How to use a Zebra label printer
New to thermal labels? This is how to use a Zebra label printer: load stock, connect the computer, design free online, and print. You do not need ZebraDesigner for the first sticker.

Unbox and load labels
- Plug in power. Connect USB (or Ethernet for network models).
- Open the media cover. Drop the roll so labels feed under the printhead.
- Align the guides and close firmly. Run a feed or calibrate if the first labels skip.
Stock sizes: thermal sizes guide. Common US shipping size is 4×6.
Connect to your computer
- Windows and Mac: USB is simplest for desktops (ZD420, ZD421, ZD220, GK/GX).

Install Browser Print (once)
Zebra Browser Print is a small free helper that lets the browser talk to the printer. Follow the setup guide. If the printer never appears: not connecting fixes.
Design a label free
- Open https://app.mylabelmaker.com. Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari. No signup.
- Choose label size and DPI (203 or 300, match the printer sticker).
- Add text, barcodes, QR, logos, shapes. Use a template if you prefer.
- Optional: paste Excel or CSV for many rows. Batch guide.
Print and check quality
- Select the printer in the app and print one label.
- Scan barcodes with a real scanner before a full run.
