Zebra network printer setup (Ethernet)
One Zebra on USB is fine for a single desk. Packing lines need a network Zebra so multiple computers can send jobs. This guide covers Ethernet setup plus free browser design.
Design free on every PC: install Browser Print on each station and use mylabelmaker.
Hardware checklist
- Zebra with Ethernet (or Wi-Fi kit) — many ZD420/ZD421/ZT models
- Cat5e/Cat6 to your switch or router
- Optional: reserve a DHCP reservation / static IP so the address never drifts

Basic Ethernet setup
- Connect power and Ethernet; power on.
- Print a network config label (often a long-press of FEED or via setup menu) to read the IP.
- On a PC, open that IP in a browser (printer web page) if available; set a static IP on the same subnet as your workstations.
- Install Browser Print on each packing PC; confirm the network printer appears.
- Open mylabelmaker → select printer → test print.

Shared packing station tips
- Give the printer a name people recognize (e.g. “Pack-Station-2”).
- One media size per station reduces calibration thrash (all 4×6, or all 2×1).
- Train one “print a config label” step for when IT changes VLANs.
- If the printer vanishes after a switch reboot, re-check IP/reservation.
Free software for every station
No per-seat license: every user opens the free browser editor. Batch from sheets for volume — batch print · barcodes from Excel.
Firewall rules can block Browser Print discovery. Allow local network access for the Browser Print helper and the printer’s IP.
