Print barcode labels from Excel
Need to print barcode labels from Excel without buying BarTender? Export your sheet, map columns to barcode fields, and batch-print on a Zebra thermal printer with free browser software.

1. Prepare the spreadsheet
- One header row: e.g.
sku,barcode,name,bin - One product/location per row
- Barcodes as plain text (keep leading zeros — format column as Text in Excel)
- Save/export as CSV UTF-8

2. Design the barcode label
- Open mylabelmaker; set size (2×1, 2.25×1.25, 3×2…) and DPI.
- Insert a native barcode (CODE128 for SKUs, UPC-A for US retail, QR for links).
- Put tokens in fields:
{{barcode}},{{sku}},{{name}}. - Leave quiet zones around the bars; add human-readable text under the symbol.

3. Load CSV and preview rows
- Open the Variables / batch panel.
- Paste or upload the CSV; confirm headers map to tokens.
- Step through rows — each should show the correct barcode.
- Print all or a selected range via Browser Print.
Common Excel pitfalls
- Leading zeros dropped — format barcode column as Text before export
- Scientific notation on long numbers — same fix
- Screenshot barcodes — never paste images; use native barcode objects
- Wrong DPI — soft bars fail scans; 300 DPI guide
