CODE128 barcode labels on Zebra printers
CODE128 is the workhorse barcode for US warehouses, shipping faces, inventory SKUs, and serials. Zebra thermal printers excel at dense CODE128 when the design is native (not a blurry image) and sized for 203 or 300 DPI.
When to use CODE128
- Alphanumeric SKUs and serials
- Internal warehouse tracking
- Many shipping/tracking-style barcodes (when not locked to a carrier PDF)
- High information density on small stickers
For retail point-of-sale UPC/EAN, use those formats instead — UPC product labels.
Free design steps

- Choose stock size; set DPI to match the printer.
- Insert a CODE128 barcode (A/B/C as needed for your data).
- Leave quiet zones (clear margins) left and right of the bars.
