Share Zebra label templates with your team

Published: · 5 min read · Label design
If the “good” template lives on one manager's PC with ZebraDesigner, everyone else prints old versions, wrong sizes, or nothing. Hiring season should not mean more seats or more USB sticks.

Label design should not be a single-license bottleneck. Open the free label maker, export JSON, drop it in a shared folder, and each station imports it. Browser Print talks to the Zebra on that desk. No signup.

Team pattern: own the master in mylabelmaker, export JSON, store it in a shared drive, wiki, or Notion, each station imports, then Browser Print. Write the size, DPI, and stock SKU next to the file.

Why seat-based designers fail small teams

How to share Zebra templates across stations

  1. Open https://app.mylabelmaker.com and create the master. Correct size and DPI, native barcodes, a clear name like 4x6-ship-to-v3.
  2. Export JSON. Portable design. See save and export.
  3. Publish once: a shared folder with read-only masters and a short changelog.
  4. Import on each PC or Mac. Same browser app URL for everyone.
  5. Print locally. Each station's Browser Print talks to its Zebra (USB or network).

Network printers: Ethernet setup. Templates gallery: free templates.

Keep the folder from going messy

Variable data at team scale

Templates stay shared. Data stays in Excel. Stations load the same layout and a different CSV each shift. Variable data guide · batch print.

Browser localStorage is per device and profile. Do not treat “it is saved in my Chrome” as the company archive. Keep exported JSON in shared storage.

Sample shared-folder layout

Onboarding a new station

  1. Install Browser Print. Confirm the printer name.
  2. Open mylabelmaker. Import the master JSON.
  3. Load a sample CSV. Print one label. Scan it.
  4. Bookmark the app URL. Do not let random edits skip a version bump.

Contractors and a second warehouse

Emailing a JSON plus a CSV schema is enough for a 3PL to match your face without VPN into a licensed desktop. They still use their own Zebra and Browser Print. You keep layout control without issuing software seats.
