Save and export label designs
Great label software lets you save and export work so designs are not locked to one machine or brand. mylabelmaker stores designs in your browser and exports files you control.
What you can save today
- Autosave — every change persists in local browser storage on that profile.
- Saved labels library — keep reusable designs in the app (same browser).
- Export label (JSON) — download an editable design file (includes layout and batch data) via Options → Export label. Re-import later on any computer.
- Copy ZPL — native Zebra printer language for ERP, WMS, print servers, and Browser Print jobs. Guide: ZPL for integrations.
Multi-format exports for other devices
We are expanding export so people who design here can take labels to phones, tablets, office printers, and non-Zebra label printers through common file formats (for example image/PDF-style outputs as they ship). Until every format is live, JSON + ZPL cover backup and Zebra production; the designer remains the free source of truth for layout.
Recommended workflows
Zebra thermal station
- Design in the browser.
- Print via Browser Print.
- Export JSON for backup or team handoff.
Design now, printer later (or different brand)
- Build the label at real inch sizes and DPI.
- Export JSON (and ZPL if the target is Zebra-compatible).
- Use image/document exports as they become available for other print apps.
ERP / warehouse systems
Design visually → copy ZPL → inject into your queue. No redesign in a proprietary desktop tool.
Tips for portable designs
- Use real label dimensions from day one.
- Prefer native barcodes over pasted screenshots.
- Keep a JSON export after major revisions.
- Match DPI to the final print device when possible.
