Zebra ZP450 setup guide — free carrier printer + browser labels

Published: · 8 min read · Setup

The Zebra ZP450 (and related ZP series) shows up in thousands of US shipping rooms as a free or discounted printer from UPS, FedEx, or carrier programs. It prints 4×6 thermal labels all day. You do not need expensive design software to use it.

1. Load 4×6 media

  1. Open the media door; insert a 4×6 direct-thermal roll.
  2. Feed under the guides; close the door.
  3. Press Feed until a full label advances cleanly.

2. Connect and install Browser Print

  1. USB (or network if available on your unit).
  2. Install Zebra Browser Print for Windows or Mac — full guide.
  3. Restart the browser completely.

3. Print free labels

  1. Open app.mylabelmaker.com.
  2. Select the ZP450; set 203 DPI (typical for this class).
  3. Artboard 4×6 for shipping.
  4. Design or load CSV → Print.
Carrier software (UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager) can still print official postage. Use mylabelmaker for custom ship-to faces, product stickers, and Excel batch jobs on the same hardware.

Shipping workflows

Older ZP units may need updated drivers or Browser Print compatibility checks. If the printer never appears, try another USB port, powered hub, or a modern ZD420/ZD421 as upgrade path.
