How to use Google Sheets with ZebraDesigner 3

ZebraDesigner 3 does not connect to Google Sheets. If your list already lives in a sheet, open the free label maker, publish that sheet as CSV, and print one sticker per row. Excel and CSV files use the same pane. That is why mylabelmaker is the better choice when you need many labels from a data source.
How to print labels from Google Sheets without ZebraDesigner 3
- Open the free label maker. No account.
- Set width, height, and DPI to match the stock in the printer.
- Add text, a barcode, or a QR. Click a column name in Variables, or type {{sku}} where the value should change.
- In Google Sheets: File, Share, Publish to the web, Comma-separated values (.csv). Copy the link.
- Open Variables, click Google Sheet, paste the link. Preview two rows. Check the rows you want. Print.
What ZebraDesigner 3 actually does with a list
ZebraDesigner 3 Essentials cannot pull a spreadsheet. You type one label at a time, or load a small .values file that fills one set of fields. If you want a database or a spreadsheet, Zebra’s own help says you must buy Professional.
Professional still does not talk to Google Sheets. It connects to an Excel or CSV file on that Windows PC. When someone updates the shared sheet, you download it again and re-link the file. There is no live URL. There is no Mac version.
Why mylabelmaker is the better choice
You already keep SKUs, names, bins, or addresses in Google Sheets, Excel, or a CSV export. You should not retype them into a Windows designer. In this app, one row becomes one label. The same Variables pane takes all three sources:
- A published Google Sheet URL. Your team keeps editing the sheet. You load it again when you need a fresh stack.
- An Excel upload (.xlsx). The file never leaves this browser.
- A CSV upload or a paste. Shopify, Square, Eventbrite, and mailing tools already spit this out.
Click a column name and it lands on the label. Flip through rows under the canvas. Print this prints the one you are looking at. The big Print button prints every row you checked, and asks how many copies of each. Unchecked rows stay in the sheet and do not print.
That workflow is free, works on Mac and Windows, and does not need a Pro seat. ZebraDesigner 3 is still the right tool for RFID encoding, stored printer formats, or a .nlbl file your vendor already built. For a packing table that lives in a spreadsheet, mylabelmaker is the better choice.
Excel, CSV, and Google Sheets in one pane
Do not split the job across three programs. If Monday’s list is a Google Sheet and Tuesday’s list is an Excel export, you design the face once. Swap the source in Variables. The {{column}} names stay put as long as the headers match.
First row of the file is the header. Those words become the names you click. A SKU column named sku goes on the label as {{sku}} in text, a barcode, a QR, or a table cell.
