How to share a label design with your team

Published: · 3 min read · How-to
Do this in the free app: app.mylabelmaker.com. No signup. Design the label, then print on a Zebra or download PNG / PDF / ZPL.

Open product sticker template

This is not a live shared canvas like Google Docs. You export one file. Your teammate opens it and can change every word. In the free label maker, click Options, Export label (JSON), and send that file. They click Import label (JSON).

Good to know: A PNG or PDF is a picture. They cannot edit the text inside it. Send the JSON file if they need to change names, prices, or barcodes.

How to share an editable label

  1. Design the label in the free label maker.
  2. Click Options, then Export label (JSON). Save the file.
  3. Put it in email, Google Drive, Dropbox, or a shared folder.
  4. Your teammate opens the same app, clicks Options, Import label (JSON), and picks the file. They can edit and print.

What the JSON file includes

The layout, text, barcodes, QR codes, images, size, and any spreadsheet data you loaded. They see the same label you saw.

What this is not

Two people cannot type on the same label at the same time. One person edits, exports, and sends it again. For packing stations that only need to print, they import once and print. Related: share templates with a packing team.

Also save a picture if they only need to look

Send a PNG or PDF for review. Send JSON when they must change it.

Print or save

Print on a Zebra from the browser, or download PNG, JPEG, SVG, PDF, or ZPL. Export JSON if you still need to edit the label later.

Export the label your team can edit

One JSON file. They import it. They keep working.
