Mail merge Google Sheets to Zebra labels

Do this in the free app: app.mylabelmaker.com. No signup. Design one label, load Excel, CSV, or Google Sheets, then print on a Zebra or download PNG / PDF / ZPL.

A mail merge from Google Sheets onto Zebra labels is one design and one sticker per row. Word and Avery sheets are the wrong size for a thermal roll. ZebraDesigner 3 wants Pro and an Excel file. The free label maker takes Sheets, Excel, or CSV and prints the stack. That is why mylabelmaker is the better choice for this merge.

Good to know: This is one label per row on the size you set, not a 30-up letter sheet. Postage still comes from USPS, UPS, or your shop. We print the face you design.

How to mail merge a spreadsheet onto Zebra labels

  1. Open the free label maker. Set the real label size (2x1, 4x6, whatever is in the printer).
  2. Click column names onto the face: name, address, sku, order id.
  3. Load a published Google Sheet, Excel, or CSV. First row is the header.
  4. Preview a long name and a short one. Print this for a test. Then print the checked rows.

Why Word mail merge fails on a Zebra

Word wants letter paper. A Zebra wants a 4x6 or a 2x1 with the gap sensor set. People set a custom paper size, fight drivers, and still get a barcode font that will not scan. Avery templates are the same trap: they are for a laser printer, not the thermal on the packing table.

ZebraDesigner 3 mail merge is the database wizard in Professional. Essentials cannot do it. The source is a file on Windows, not the Google Sheet the event team is still editing.

Why mylabelmaker is the better choice

Mail merge here is visual. You see {{name}} turn into Rita on row 1 and Jon on row 2. You do not guess from a dialog. Native barcodes and QR codes take a column. Tables on the label can hold {{qty}} next to {{sku}}. Group a caption under the bars so they move as one.

Google Sheets for a shared guest list. Excel for a roster someone emailed. CSV for an Eventbrite download. Same merge. Check the people who showed up. Leave the no-shows unchecked so they do not print. That is a real door stack, not “print all records.”

If you needed 30-up address labels on a laser, this is not that tool. If you needed a Zebra roll of name tags, bin labels, or pack faces from a list, mylabelmaker is the better choice because the merge is the print job.

Excel and CSV merges

Same steps. Upload instead of pasting a Sheet URL. Guides: name badges from Google Sheets · address labels from CSV · CSV mail merge labels.

Print or save

Zebra thermal: print from the browser with Browser Print at the printer’s DPI. Everyone else: download PNG, JPEG, SVG, PDF, or ZPL. JSON keeps the editable master, including the list you loaded.
