How to make Zebra printer labels: open the free label maker, set the size to the roll in the printer, design the label, and print. There's no Windows-only designer. Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox all work. If you have a list in Excel or Google Sheets, you print one label per row in the same app.

How to make Zebra printer labels, step by step

  1. Open the free label maker. No account.
  2. Set width, height, and 203, 300, or 600 DPI to match the Zebra.
  3. Type on the label. Add a barcode or QR if you need one.
  4. Choose Zebra. Print a test, then the rest. Load Excel or Google Sheets if each label should change.

That's it for one label. Home users stop there. Shops keep going with a spreadsheet.

Make Zebra printer labels at home or at work

At home you might want a 2x1 name label or a 4x6 for a garage bin. At work you might have 200 SKUs. Same app. Set the size, type, print. ZebraDesigner Essentials and Professional are Windows programs with wizards and licenses. A lot of people find them heavy for a simple label. Here you click the label and type.

If the names already live in Excel or Google Sheets, don't retype them. Click a column onto the label, load the file, preview a row, print the ones you checked.

When you're ready to print or save

If a Zebra is plugged in, print from the browser. Set 203, 300, or 600 DPI to match the printer. On a regular printer, choose Print from this computer. You can also download a PNG, a PDF, or the ZPL code a Zebra reads. Save a JSON file if you want to open this label again later, spreadsheet included.
