How to use an easy label maker for beginners
- Open the free label maker. You won't see an account screen.
- Type the width and height in inches so it matches the labels in your printer or pack.
- Click the label and type a name, a date, whatever belongs there. Add a barcode or QR if you need one.
- Print from this computer, print to a Zebra, or download a PNG or PDF.
That's the whole first sitting. If other software felt like homework, you already did the hard part.
Add a barcode, a QR, or a logo when words aren't enough
Say you're making a lunch-box name label. Type Maya, pick a font you like, maybe add a small heart. Or it's jam jars: strawberry, the date, a circle that fits the lid. You shouldn't need a class for that.
When you need more than words, add a barcode. CODE128 is fine for a shop code. UPC or EAN if you already own those numbers. Add a QR if a phone should open a link, WiFi, or a contact card. Drop in a logo. Draw a box or a circle. If a barcode and the numbers under it should stay together, select both and group them. Zoom in if the label is tiny. Undo if you bump something.
Size is just inches. Two by one for a barcode. Four by six for shipping. A circle for a lid. If you print on a Zebra, set 203, 300, or 600 DPI so the bars stay sharp. On a home inkjet you can ignore DPI and still print from this computer.
Print many labels from Excel or Google Sheets
Tonight you needed one jar lid. Next week the school sends a roster in Excel, or the names live in Google Sheets. You don't start over, and you don't pay extra to use a list.
Open Variables on the right. Upload the Excel file, paste a CSV, or paste a published Google Sheet link. In Google Sheets that's File, Share, Publish to the web, then comma-separated values. Click a column name, like name, and it lands on the label. Each row becomes its own label. Flip through a couple of rows so a long name still fits. Print this reprints the one you're looking at. Print sends every row you checked. Unchecked rows stay in the sheet and wait.
Your Excel file stays in this browser. We never see it. A Google Sheet is fetched by your browser from Google, not from us.
Print from this computer, print to a Zebra, or save a file
No Zebra at home? Choose Print from this computer, or download a PDF and print at actual size. Zebra at work? A small helper from Zebra called Browser Print lets the app talk to the printer. If someone later wants printer code, copy ZPL (that's the language Zebra printers read), or open the ZPL viewer, paste a job, see a picture, and print it. You never left the beginner app to do that.
Need 001, 002, 003 on cubby labels? Open Number, set the start, add it to the label. Need today's date or a use-by? Open Date. The day comes from this computer. Hit Save so the design stays in this browser. If you want a file you can open later, export JSON from Options, or copy it into a chat and paste it on another computer.
This won't cut vinyl, won't print 30-up Avery sheets in Word, won't encode RFID, and won't open a ZebraDesigner project. Rebuild the label once here. Postage still comes from USPS, UPS, or your shop. If a Zebra is plugged in, print from the browser. Set 203, 300, or 600 DPI to match the printer. On a regular printer, choose Print from this computer.
