Easy to use label software. Free online

Published: · 7 min read · How-to
Sit down and try it: app.mylabelmaker.com. No account. Make one label tonight, or print a whole list from Excel or Google Sheets when you need it.

Open warehouse inventory template

Easy to use label software shouldn't need a manual for “type the name.” In the free label maker you work on the label itself. Print this, Print, and Download PNG mean what they say. Spreadsheets, ZPL, and Zebra print sit on the side until you need them. No signup.

Good to know: Easy doesn't mean empty. You still get barcodes, QR codes, tables, groups, Excel, Google Sheets, and a ZPL viewer. We still don't encode RFID or open ZebraDesigner files.

How to use easy to use label software for free

  1. Open the free label maker.
  2. Set the size in inches. Type on the label. Drag a barcode if you need bars.
  3. For a list, click a column name, then load Excel, CSV, or Google Sheets.
  4. Print this for one label. Print for the rows you checked. Or copy ZPL if another program will print.

If that felt obvious, good. This is supposed to feel obvious at 9 p.m. when you've got twenty minutes.

What easy to use looks like when you're in a hurry

You're packing orders, or the kids are in bed and you still need freezer labels. You shouldn't hunt through menus named Database. You see the label. You type. If the names are already in Excel, you click the column. If only some rows should print, you check those rows.

Print this asks how many copies of the one in front of you. Print asks how many copies of each row you checked. That's a reprint versus a full run, in two buttons.

Add a table, group a barcode, or drop a logo

A packing label might need a tiny table: item and qty. Open Table, type in the cells, or put a column name in a cell and load Excel. A barcode and the numbers under it can be grouped so they move as one. A logo drops on as a PNG. Lock it in layers if you keep dragging it by accident.

If you never need a table, you never open Table. The extra tools wait. You didn't buy a separate layout program.

Print from Excel or Google Sheets without paying extra

Some makers look easy, then watermark the PNG or charge once you upload a spreadsheet. Here the list is part of the same free app. A huge sheet can be slow in a browser. That's a computer limit, not a paywall.

ZebraDesigner Essentials can't print from Excel. The paid Professional version wants a file on a Windows PC, not a live Google Sheet. BarTender and NiceLabel are strong in big plants, and they cost money. If you wanted easy software that still prints a shop list, you can stay in this browser and pay nothing.

Mac and Windows use the same buttons. Print from this computer uses the usual print dialog. A Zebra uses Browser Print. Related: easy label maker for beginners · what the app can do.

When you're ready to print or save

If a Zebra is plugged in, print from the browser. Set 203, 300, or 600 DPI to match the printer. On a regular printer, choose Print from this computer. You can also download a PNG, a PDF, or the ZPL code a Zebra reads. Save a JSON file if you want to open this label again later, spreadsheet included.

Print this. Print. Download. The buttons mean that.
