Print labels from Google Docs, the free path

Published: · 3 min read · Software
Do this in the free app: app.mylabelmaker.com. No signup. Design the label, then print on a Zebra or download PNG / PDF / ZPL.

Google Docs is a poor label surface. Tables drift, and there is no native barcode. Design the face here and load a published Google Sheet for the merge. Same data, better output. Open the free label maker and start. No signup.

Good to know: We fetch only a published Sheet CSV you paste. Docs files are not imported. Unpublish when you are done if the sheet is sensitive.

How to print labels from Google Docs without the table hack

  1. Keep names and addresses in Google Sheets, not in a Docs table.
  2. Open https://app.mylabelmaker.com. No signup. Set the size of your stock.
  3. Add text, a barcode, or a QR code. Map columns like {{name}} from the published sheet.
  4. Preview row 1 and a row near the end. Print on a Zebra, or download PNG, PDF, or ZPL.

Docs add-ons

Avery add-ons in Docs target sheet labels on a laser printer. Thermal 4×6 and scannable barcodes belong in a real label canvas.

Print the whole list from Google Sheets

One row per name or address. Map a column into text, a barcode, or a QR code. Preview a row, then print the stack. Guide: mail merge labels.

Print or save

Got a Zebra? Print from the browser with Browser Print, at the printer's DPI. Otherwise download PNG, JPG, SVG, PDF, or ZPL. JSON keeps the label you can open later.

Print from the Sheet, not the Doc

Map a column, preview a row, then print. No signup.
