localhost:9101 and Browser Print

Published: · 3 min read · Problem
Free label maker: Open app.mylabelmaker.com. No signup. Design the label, print from Excel if you have a list, then download PNG or PDF or print to a Zebra from this computer.

Zebra Browser Print exposes a local HTTPS helper, often on port 9101. The editor talks to that helper on this computer (not the public internet) to list printers and send ZPL. Open https://app.mylabelmaker.com after the helper is running.

Good to know: Never download a "9101 fix" from an unknown site. Use Zebra's official Browser Print installer only. If Safari already blocked the helper, remove 127.0.0.1 and localhost from website data. Leave app.mylabelmaker.com so labels stay.

How to fix localhost:9101 and Browser Print

  1. Open https://app.mylabelmaker.com. No signup.
  2. Install Zebra Browser Print on this computer if you have not already. It is free from Zebra. Leave it running.
  3. Safari: open https://127.0.0.1:9101/ssl_support and https://localhost:9101/ssl_support. Show Details, then visit this website. Chrome: Allow local network when asked.
  4. Pick Zebra Printer in the editor. Print one test label. Do not send a whole stack until it looks right.

Why the editor mentions 9101

If devices never appear, the helper is the usual cause. On Safari, a stored Not Private warning for 127.0.0.1 can hide the printer even when Browser Print is open. Clear that site data, then trust the helper again. PNG and PDF download still work without it.

Print or save

After the test looks right, print the rest from the same design. Save a JSON copy so you can open it again later. Browser Print is Zebra-only.
